THE HERDS ARE COMING ...
From April to August 2025, a large herd of lifelike figures, wild animals in life-size fleeing from the climate catastrophe, will halt traffic in major cities along a 20,000 km route from the Congo River delta all the way to the Arctic Circle. In each city, more local animals join in and fill the streets with their alarming message about an ecosystem on the verge of collapse.
THE HERDS will be visiting Denmark from Monday, July 14 to Sunday, July 20, where events will be held in both Aarhus and Copenhagen.
In Copenhagen, there will be two events. The first event on Saturday, July 19 is a dramatic confrontation between The Herds and cyclists, taking place on Queen Louise's Bridge, followed by a procession through Nørrebro towards Sankt Hans Torv. The second event on Sunday, July 20 is at Ofelia Plads where all the animals from The Herds will dance in a powerful and sensory climate performance, confronting the audience with the necessity for local action.
We need volunteers, and there are various opportunities to participate. As a volunteer performer, you are at the center of the entire event. As an assistant on training days and as a guide for the procession, you help create the conditions for everything to be possible.
